Step-by-Step Clinical Healing Milestones

Expected physiological progress supervised by our M.Ch surgical faculty.

Hours 0–24 (Day of Surgery)Hemodynamic Stability & Fluid Drainage

Discharged same day with companion. Mild tumescent fluid seepage through micro-puncture sites is normal and reduces bruising. Rest in bed with light leg flexion.

Days 2–3 (Early Recovery)Mobilization & Desk Work

Tumescent drainage ceases. Short, gentle indoor walks every 2 hours promote lymphatic circulation and prevent DVT. Desk-based work can resume on Day 3.

Week 1–2 (Tissue Remodeling)Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) & Compression

Medical grade Stage-1 compression garment worn 24/7 (except during showers). Professional MLD massages begin on Day 5 to resolve transient hardness and edema.

Weeks 3–4 (Return to Light Fitness)Transition to Stage-2 Garment

Brisk walking, stationary cycling, and light cardio resume. Bruising is 85% cleared. Muscular etch lines begin emerging as swelling recedes.

Weeks 6–12 (Final Athletic Definition)Unrestricted Activity & Neo-Collagenesis

Heavy weight lifting, swimming, and high-impact sports permitted. Skin retraction reaches full tightening recoil. Final sculpted contours established.

Medical Compression Garment / Dressing Directive

Stage-1 medical compression garment worn 24 hours daily for first 3 weeks, followed by 12 hours daily for weeks 4–6.

Mandatory Post-Op Directives (Dos)

  • Walk gently for 10 minutes every 2 hours while awake to encourage circulation.
  • Maintain high protein intake (1.5g/kg body weight) and drink 3+ liters of water daily.
  • Sleep with treated areas slightly elevated on pillows to reduce dependent edema.
  • Wear medical compression garments continuously as prescribed by the surgical team.

Critical Restrictions (Don’ts)

  • Do not soak in bathtubs, hot tubs, or swimming pools until micro-incisions are completely closed (approx. 2 weeks).
  • Do not consume alcohol or high-sodium foods for 14 days, as they exacerbate water retention.
  • Do not engage in heavy core strain or vigorous exercise before Week 4 clearance.
24/7 Emergency Triage & Red-Flag Warnings

Recovery FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Surgical Healing

When is it safe to travel or fly after aesthetic surgery?

For zero-downtime procedures (Ultraformer MPT, PDRN, Soprano Titanium), you can fly immediately. For daycare body contouring surgeries (VASER Liposuction, Gynecomastia), domestic flights are permitted after 4–6 days, while long-haul international flights require 7–10 days with clearance from your operating surgeon to prevent altitude-induced edema and DVT.

How can I minimize scarring after surgery?

Our surgeons place all surgical incisions along natural anatomical folds (such as the bikini line for tummy tucks, periareolar border for gynecomastia, or columella for rhinoplasty). Once incisions close (around Day 14), we prescribe medical-grade silicone gel sheets, UV-50 sunblock, and adjuvant Fotona laser scar remodeling.

Why is medical compression garment wear non-negotiable after liposuction?

Ultrasound VASER liquefaction creates empty anatomical space where fat cells once resided. Medical compression garments collapse this potential space, dramatically reducing seroma (fluid accumulation), eliminating subcutaneous bruising, and encouraging the skin to retract tightly against the muscular wall.

What should I do if I experience unexpected swelling or pain during recovery?

Cosmo Radiance provides 24/7 clinical post-operative triage coordination. Every patient receives direct WhatsApp and phone emergency contact numbers for the resident medical team and operating surgeon. Never hesitate to reach out for immediate guidance.
